Fall bait run

With late the summer rains continuing into early fall and water temperatures coming down the large schools of bait have arrived on the oceanside of the upper keys. The west coast of the everglades will soon follow. Juvenile tarpon fishing along the oceanside of the keys has been very consistent. Anglers have been getting many opportunities at aggressive feeding fish, with the average fish being around 15lbs. The snook in the backcountry are happy to see the arrival of finger mullet our key fall bait. Along with great snook and tarpon fishing in the morning we have been able to find some great bonefishing despite the king tides this time of year. With high sun and big tides bonefish and permit have been the targets for the afternoon.
