2025 Season and What’s to Come!

Moon Cast Anglers had and is having a very memorable 2025 Season. And with only a few months left let’s get out on the water to enjoy our fall season! There are plenty of snook and reds around. The summer heat has chilled out, the fish are up on the flats sunning and trying to stay warm. This is also the time of year for the backcountry canoe trips! If you want to catch what seems to be an unlimited amount of snook and have shots at reds and baby tarpon, the canoe trip can be an absolute blast!

Now lets get into the Islamorada Fishing Report!

We have had a few cold front and some wind come in the past few weeks and it seems to be waking up our winter snook and redfish. The backcountry is fishing well either pounding banks or patiently sight fishing. There have been reds up on the flats with snook here and there. Baby tarpon can still be found cruising banks, however they tend to head to the warmer “No Motor Zones” this time of year and can be found back there in abundance.

The canoe trip is a great way for a seasoned or intermediate angler to bend a rod all day long. Snook, Reds, and Tarpon can be found in abundance in the way back country. I only take one angler and it is tide dependent. If slaying fish in what seems to be a private fishery sounds like something you’re interested in, let me know! Its and awesome adventure, and one of the most exciting things to do in the Keys.

Bonefish and permit can be found around town. They can get a little difficult when the cold fronts come in. They tend to get moved around a little more. Crabs and live shrimp can make this pursuit a little easier. Let me know if you want to get on the water and I’ll make it happen! Looking forward to fishing with you soon!
